KOdak Ultramax // Pentax k1000

Here we are again. I got 10 roll of Ultramax for Christmas so I’m slowly making my through that, trying not to rush it. I noticed there’s a bit more of a relaxed nature to shooting film that you didn’t buy with your own money. I don’t feel as pressured for the work to be as special, if that makes sense. I just kinda roam and shoot at my leisure—a total contrast ti how i typically do things. This roll yielded some pretty good results too. The Pentax K1000 is truly one of my most reliable cameras and I’m always impressed with the photos that come back from it. Let’s take a look.

I took a long trek to this red lighthouse that is nestled underneath the George Washington bridge in northern Manhattan, not too far from my old apartment in Harlem. Definitely love the colors that came out of these, the red lighthouse is striking against that teal sky. Being able to use the 28mm lens to capture the grandiosity of the bridge is very nice.

Now for some other stuff.

I took a ferry ride to Governor’s Island (more photos to come in a later roll) and took these. Nothing I’m too crazy about tbh, i like the one of the single bird. Got him in sharp focus. I also like the one with the soda machines in front of the building. Something about that composition and subject matter combo just hits me right.

Okay let’s see what else is on this roll.

My Old Apartment Building.

This is on the corner of Amsterdam and W151st Street. Me and my old roommates used to live on the third floor of that building, above the hardware store. I thought it’d be nice to document it as a nice memento.

And I think we just finish all of these blog posts off with some photos of my cats. Here they are!

Okay it’s just the one cat, Kirby (she tends to be a bit more photogenic) and I love these three photos of her. I can’t wait to see how many photos of her and Pierre I have at the end of the year. So far there are too many to count (not really, i’m just lazy).

That’ll do it for this roll. The next one should be coming in today.
