Portra 160 NC // Ricoh XR-2
Still making my way through the bag of expired film and the Portra 160NC that i have in it. I’ve shot 3/7ths of the rolls that i have and this is roll number 3. Overall, pretty pleased, though none of these photos would probably last in the long term portfolio—more on that later. I’ll start with some of my favorites but you can see all the keepers down below.
Wet Pant
I think I generally describe my photography as attempting to document the things we ignore or pass by without much thought. At first glance I thought this was a regular ‘wet paint’ sign but upon further review, i saw someone made a clever joke out of it. That combined with the “get a life, only jesus gives eternal life” text just makes this a combination of elements blend together to befuddle us.
Kirby (Eyes On The Prize)
I love this one. I take a lot of photos of my cats so this isn’t surprising that at least one of them came out good. The focus was nailed (her nose to the closest eye is in focus which is awesome—her ears are out, so my aperture must have been pretty wide.) She’s just so goddamn photogenic.
Curb Ur Antisemitism
I generally try to avoid photographing stickers/graffiti/other people’s art because the idea of capitalizing off of other people’s hard work irks me to no end. That being said, i couldn’t ignore this one—the texture, the message, the Larry David, the red and teal pole background—it all just worked.
